Ok here ya go.....got these at Walmart for a big ole $4 each. Thick and bushy...lotta work to be done! Mine is on the left...My Sons is on the right. Comments wanted!!Cut the sucker in half and thinned...thinned....thinned. Mine still needs a load of thinning and a lil work but so far so good! Josh couldn't wait and did a 50% prune and a 50% root cut and repot all in one day.....dunno if his is gonna make it? I did notice with his the roots are completely outta control and VERY thick spaghetti!!! He is going for the leaning style....I'm going for raised root. As you can see in this pic mine has a impressive raised root structure to work with! I'm a sucker for nice root exposure! A week after pruning mine drastically it's showing signs of new growth so the next step is to repot probably by this comming weekend? How am I doing? Is the new growth supposed to me VERY light green/yellow?

sweet looking tree. I like the canopy look you gave it. Nice little roots there too. Your getting the hang of this.

WOW ...no doubt those things were thick and bushy. I would have never thought that they were that bushy all the way to the trunk. I would have thought that they would have thinned out a little when you got close to the trunk.
Great find!

Using the thick lip of the grow pot you can attach guy wires to spread the branching out, this will help to add that "real tree" feeling. From there I think I would pic up 3-5 more of these and make a nice slab or forest bonsai. Boxwood bend slow, most people get in a hurry and break them, you may expect 2 years to move and set the thicker branches on yours.
