I post pics of my stuff on another message forum and it's gets picked apart.
Thats crooked....this.....that.....what the...... I just want NATURAL miniature trees to enjoy! Not looking for a competition work of art. None of the trees I see in nature are perfect.
Is it just me that's wacky or what?? Gezzzz

Wes told me your tree was getting picked apart on another forum.... do as Wes advises... you will enjoy your tree more... I promise.... He would not lead you astray or try and have you make the tree something it is not...
Which is something I find is a problem in many places. Any time you attempt to make a tree fail to be true to it's character, it looses something vital.
You're fine... the tree is fine... make it what it is... and not what it is not...
Your Friend,

The main problem is that each person has their own idea what a bonsai should look like. Personally I like the idea of mimicking nature, copying the tough little trees that are struggling for each minute of life. However that said, I also like some of the artsy fartsy stuff so I can see both sides of the coin. Most of my trees though will do the mimick thing.
Don't take negative comments personally.
Enjoy your trees mate.

Wes is a pompous ass and i would not be too worried about him or his opinions, my friend, as he delights in belittleing others.

i agree, i posted a picture of one of my trees and someone said it was wrong basically, i bought it already trained etc, and i bought it because i liked how it looked! someone suggested i cut it right down and start all over again, but after thinking about it im going to keep it how it is!
