Well went to the local Florist that carries Bonsai again tonite. Came home with a 2-3yr old Fukien Tea ($9.99) starting to bloom. It's about 10 1/2in tall with a trunk lil bigger dia than a pencil. Dunno if it'll continue to bloom now that I repotted it? Only had to 1/3 trim very few roots. Then the clincher.....a already wired Serissa with a nice spread....I'd say about 2yrs old...no price on it. It was the ONLY one wired and ready to go. Lady looked around at the others ($8.99) and said I'm sure it's more than this being wired and all....you can have it for the same price....don't say anything! Woot! What a deal.....I'm sure it was supposed to be at least $20. It's 9in tall with a good 12-13in spread. Repotted it too....both of these were in nursery pots. Again very little root work had to be done! This time I got smart and picked up a bag of ready to go Bonsai soil mix and followed the directions. It's put out by Hoffman anyone heard of it? After while I'll post the pics of these 2 plants taken before the repotting.

Two healthy looking little trees there, the Serissa seems to have a good spread going. On the fukien, do you think that you can still get some movement on that trunk, or is it too stiff already, or are you looking for an upright look?
As far as the flowers on the fukien your probably right. When you repot you will probably loose them but they grow back pretty quickly. I let the flowers on mine get brown and kinda crusty and then just kinda flick them off. It doesnt take long after that the new ones will start coming back.

Yeah I got slammed at the "other place" cuz my Serissa was poorly wired. I'll let it establish itself then I'll take the wire off. Wonder how long before it flowers? As for the Tea.....yeah the trunk is past it's plyable state. Yet to figure what I want for a style yet.

good starts . Feed the serissa 15-30-15 or something with a high phosphate level, this will promote flowers on your tree. I usually get flowers on mine through the summer and into the fall, maybe one or two here or there in the winter. - $h@rK
