You like what I did with Mr Sheff's roots? Coupla pieces of natural Granite I found long side the road by my house! ;D Mind you this is my 1st crack at Bonsai.

Not the traditional root over rock, but I really like the way you did it. It looks like a tree growing up in an old forest foraging among the big trees and rocks to find all the nutrients it can. Keep up the good work, your surely on the right track.

i like it man....and since you seem to be a self proclaimed new person to bonsai i have one suggestion..the last pic is missing a root in my honest and humble opinion....have you read anything on thread grafting...if it were my tree i would thread graft a root to the center of the base in the last pic...i think it would finish the nebari out and be a fun skill to learn.

Graphy, I see what BO is meaning. The roots kinda look one sided on the tree. A root coming out of that middle would be kinda nice. Might be something worth looking into.
Nice catch BO its something I never would have thought of myself. I'm still a newbie as well, and that is something I've never thought to look at.
